What is a micro-inverter and how is it different to traditional technologies?

The inverter, which converts DC to AC power that can be used in your home, can make a huge difference to the performance of your solar panels. Traditionally, one central inverter would cover an entire residential solar system.

Micro-inverters are small inverters, which sit on the back of every panel.

By using micro-inverters you get the following results:

  1. Energy Efficiency: micro inverters create a more efficient system. Using a central inverter (existing technology) can mean that if shade, dirt, bird droppings or the like affect one panel, the entire system may become less efficient. By choosing micro-inverters every panel performs to its maximum potential.
  2. More power and more savings: a system that is energy efficient delivers more power output to put savings into your pocket.
