Energy prices continue to rise and choosing solar power will still have a positive impact on your household budget.
By investing in solar power you will benefit in two ways.
Firstly you can generate your own electricity, so you use less from the grid. Secondly, if your solar panels generate excess electricity you may receive a rebate for the surplus electricity your panels put back into the grid.
At the moment, the current average rebate (or feed-in tariff) is approximately 6 c/kWh. To make a comparison to other investments, if you were to sell all of your solar power back to the grid, you would receive approximately a 7% return on your investment – this is better than money in the bank! And better still, the more of your solar power that you use during the day the greater the return on your investment, even up to 35%!
Over the life of your solar panels you can dramatically reduce your energy bill, your household's carbon footprint and solar panels may even improve the value of your home.
